Tanjung Rhu
Tanjung Rhu is deemed one of the best beaches in Pulau Langkawi (Langkawi Island).
Fringed by tall casuarina trees, it has boats for hire to cruise
around the islands, as well as the Tanjung Rhu Riding Centre offering
equestrian sports.
Location - Tanjung Rhu is located 22
km away from Kuah.

Gua Cerita
The Gua Cerita or "Cave with a Legend" is one of the many fascinating
limestone caves situated in the north-east of Langkawi. It comprises two
limestone caves, one above the other and faces the sea.

There are legends associated with Cave.
To reach the cave, visitors would have to have a 30 minutes boat ride to
reach the promontory where a wooden ladder leads to the mouth of the cave.
Location: Tanjung Rhu, N. Eastern end
of the island.

Hangat Village (Hot Water Village)
This complex includes a 3 tier hot spring fountain
and 18 meter long hand carved river-stone mural wall depicting the legends
that enshroud this location Based around natural salty hot springs, it water
is believed to have healing power and can cure ailments such as rheumatism,
arthritis as well as rejuvenate the mind and soul.
The medley of traditional activities at Air Hangat
Village reflects the richness of the Kedah culture.
It also offers opportunity to see activities such as Malay art and craft
activities like batik-painting,
wood carving and
traditional games.
Seri Theatre Restaurant features a classic Kampung dinner on banana leaf
with live music and dances. And for the weary traveler, a traditional foot
message is offered at a rate of RM10 for 15 minutes.

Galeria Perdana
This unique gallery was built to display and share with everyone an
impressive collection of over 2,500 state gifts and awards presented to the
Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and his wife
during his tenure.
An example of a piece to note is the two portraits of the Prime minister and
his wife displayed on the right side upon entering the gallery. They look
like an ordinary painting but upon closer inspection, you'll find that it's
actually embroidery done using horse and goat hair. One section is devoted
to gifts made of wood, leather, crystal and lacquer, as well as musical
instruments and stone objects.
Another section comprises textiles, games, weaponry, ceramics, plaques and
Islamic art.
There are also gifts of silver, copper, brass and pewter. There
is even an array of automobiles. Some of the exhibits are special awards
received by the Prime Minister and his wife. Take time to wander around the Galeria and read the footnotes accompanying each exhibit. The extensive
grounds around the building are also very interesting as they are specially
landscaped and planted with local trees,
shrubs and herbs.

Kilim Nature Park
Kilim Nature Park at the northeast tip of the island is spread over an area
of 100sq. km including the river banks up to the river estuary.
The park features a beautiful mix of well protected green mangrove forests,
isolated white beaches and blue lagoons.
Spend
the day exploring the mangroves, singing back to the howler monkeys, dodging
bats in ancient caves, feeding manta rays, swimming the shores of isolated
beaches, watching eagles feed and otters play.

Langkawi Bird Paradise
Some 2,500 birds from 150 species are housed in the bird park here including some of the
world's rarest and most beautiful birds. Admire these beautiful fowls as you
stroll through beautiful tropical gardens. Spend some time at the Macaw's
Courtyard, the Flamingo Pond, and admire the clever impersonation
of Cockatoos and Mynas.
The villagers have helped to capture some of the birds. To protect the
species, they need a permit to do so since some of these birds may have
migrated from other countries as far as Africa, Europe and such.
If you wish, you can also drop by the photo booth and take a few photos of
yourself with some of the
friendly feathered residents here.
