Langkawi Book Village
The 12th of its kind in the world, it is situated in a beautifully
landscaped
50 ha site amidst tranquil setting of the lush rainforests.
With
a collection of more than 50,000 books which includes rare and antiquarian
books. It has numerous traditional houses dotting the village that
are stocked with a great variety of books in various languages.
Location: Lubuk Semilang, about 15
minutes drive from Kuah at the foot of Gunung Raya.

Gunung Raya
Rising to a height of 881 metres, Gunung Raya is the tallest natural feature
on Pulau Langkawi. According to legend, the mountain is believed to have been once a being named Mat
Raya who once lived on the island. Untouched and covered with dense jungle,
it has become the favourite destination for the adventurous.
Trekking from a recreational site such as Lubuk Sembilang to the peak
is simply magnificent but taking a guide along is advisable. A
telecommunications station is accessible via a small road leading to the
top. The view up here is amazing and you can see the whole Island.
Facilities on top of the mountain are a tea/Coffee shop that serves light
snacks.

Snake Sanctuary
This parkland sanctuary with an undulating setting is home to approximately
250 species of venomous and non-venomous snakes endemic to the
Malaysian region as well as from all over the world.
 It is one of the regions best in terms of quality of setting within an
environment that is conducive to man viewing snakes in their natural habitat.
Spacious Terrariums are located at various
parts of the parkland along well defined paths
for close public viewing of the snakes.
