The small island of Lang Tengah
sits between the Perhentians and Redang Island. It is best described as
a secret paradise hideaway seldom visited by tourists and divers, this
will change over time. Coral is in pristine condition and marine life is
abundant here.

of snappers, fusiliers and rabbit fish. A thermo-cline often drops the
visibility which can be up to 30 meters. Bamboo sharks, turtles and
shovel nosed rays have been spotted on occasion around the island. There
are a couple of shallow bays ideal for night diving where crustaceans
and nocturnal reef critters are abundant.

LANG TENGAH DIVE SITES
Karang Nibong Laut
The underwater mound consists of a pile of huge rocks on a sandy area. A
lot of bamboo sharks sleeping under these rocks and also some very nice
nudibranchs. Look under the saucer like leather corals, there are always
some moray eels hiding there.
Angular-shaped rock bottoms out at about 25 metres at the sandy seabed.
Located at the tip of the island, this site is usually swept by currents
that attract pelagic fish life such as barracudas, jacks and if you are
lucky, the whale shark. At the coral garden, butterfly fish, wrasses,
rabbit fish and turtles can be observed.

House Reef
This place is nice for night dives. In the sandy areas you can find
cuttlefish, octopus and moray eels. If you go snorkeling check out the
resident black tip reef sharks at the southern end of the beach.
Batu Kuching
This site got its name from a squarish boulder perched on top of other
boulders that resembles a cat. The boulder terrain plunges down to about
20 metres where sea whips are dominant. Barrel sponges and hard corals
form the seascape. Good place to see glass sweepers, wrasses, butterfly
fish and snappers.
Terumbu Kuning (Yellow Reef)
A rocky formation (bottom 25m) where you can find nurse sharks hiding in
the crevices. There are a lot of small animals like shrimps, flatworms,
nudibranchs, gobies, pipefish. Located close to the two resorts, Terembu
Kuning is a rocky outcrop sloping to the sea bottom at about 20 metres.
Hard corals dominate the reef providing refuge for shy groupers,
barramundi cods and nurse sharks. While batfish, jacks and fusiliers
swim about in the blue water.
Tanjung Telunjuk
Sea fans, harp coral, blue and green anemone
