The real attraction here however are the enchanting beaches on the western coastline Pantai Puteri Dewi , Teluk Belanga, Teluk Nipah, and Teluk Cempedak are marvellous for swimming or just basking in the sun, amidst tranquil surroundings.


Pasir Bogak
Pasir Bogak was the first-developed beach and thus is the largest and most popular beach on the island. It is fine for swimming, but gets very crowded during holidays. The beach is narrow and crescent shaped with numerous shady trees. There are some facilities for boating, fishing, snorkelling, scuba diving (Pulau Sembilan), kayaking, rafting. There are accommodations ranging from campsites to Hotels and a number of seafood restaurants located here.


Teluk Nipah
The increasingly popular Teluk Nipah further north, has a wider beach. The water is a clear emerald-green due to presence of limestone, and usually the beach is quite clean and pretty. Accommodation here caters much to the middle to lower-ranged budgets. Chalets, restaurants and motels line the streets and even the small alleyways.



 During the peak seasons, it's jam-packed with tourists. The main road lies between the beach and the motels and chalets so don't expect to get any rooms on the beach itself. Just off the main street, towards the end of alleyways sits the borderline of the forest reserve. In the evenings, if you're lucky, you can witness a flock of hornbills flying in for handouts left out by local operators.

From the beach, you can also take a short boat ride to the nearby islands of Pulau Giam and Pulau Mentaggor and do sone snorkeling. if you're really for some exercise, you can rent kayaks for a paddle out to these islands.


Coral Bay
The best west coast beach, just north of Teluk Nipah, with clear emerald-green water due to the presence of limestone. Usually clean and pretty, but there are not to many people swimming there.




Teluk Belanga
Teluk Belanga (Golden Sands Beach) at the northern end of the island is pleasant buy privatly owned beach. Access is restricted to the Pangkor Island Beach Resort guests only.




Emerald Bay
Emerald Bay on nearby Pulau Pangkor Laut is a beautiful little horseshoe-shaped bay with clear water, fine coral and gently sloping beach. The entire island of Pangkor Laut has been taken over by a hotel conglomerate, but some of the boat tours stop at the beach



Pantai Teluk Dalam
The kampung house concept Teluk Dalam Resort is great if you don't intend to leave the resort at all - it's a sort of 'sit and do absolutely nothing but relax' place. Great for those
tattered nerves.



Accommodations
There are indeed quite a number of resorts, motels and inns on Teluk Nipah and Pasir Bogak. In particular, Teluk Nipah. One end of the beach is chock-full with chalets, A-huts, small resorts and and restaurants. The accommodation here is quite affordable. For the more up-market traveller, there are a number of resorts and hotels scattered around in quieter ends of the island with private beaches for guests to
explore and relax.


Getting Around
Taxis are not cheap but are readily available for most part of the day - Agree on the fare before starting your journey. Should you decide for a more thrilling way to see the island, there are rental agencies that lease bicycles and motorbikes.
