 The
Old Railway Station
Built in 1910, it is yet another heritage building which reflects the
influence of Moorish architecture. Extensively renovated to provide
air-conditioned comfort and modern facilities for rail customers in
1986. Next-door is the once-gracious colonial Majestic
Hotel. Presently it serves as a rail commuter station as the railway
services have been moved to the modern Sentral station nearby in
Brickfield. It houses the Heritage Hotel with its antique lift and has a
quaint colonial type bar.
Islamic Arts Museum
Among the galleries found here is the Islamic Architecture Gallery that
showcases miniature replicas of renowned buildings, such as the Taj
Mahal, Imam Ismail Albukhary Mosque and the Amir Timur Mausoleum. The
Standard Chartered Ottoman Room displays objects from the reign of
Turkey and Syria. In the Al-Quran and Manucript Gallery is a collection
of more than 200 rare Islamic manuscripts that include 30-Judz� Al-Quran
from the Ming Dynasty.

Mosque
This uniquely designed mosque embodies a contemporary expression of
traditional Islamic art, calligraphy, and ornamentation. Its most
striking multi-fold umbrella-like roof and the sleek and stylish 73 m
high minaret symbolising the aspirations of an independent nation.
 KL
Bird Park
Located in the serene Lake Gardens, the park is one of the largest
covered bird park in the world. Here bird lovers can have a field day
watching more than 3,000 birds in a totally landscaped environment.
While the birds are allowed to fly freely, the incompatible species are
confined in Display Aviaries and specially designed exhibits.

Museum
The principle museum in the country, this palatial building is designed
based on classic Malay architecture. The various galleries provide
interesting insights into the history, political development, culture,
economy, arts and
flora and fauna of the country.

National Planetarium
This blue-domed structure is situated atop a hill in KL Lake Gardens. It
houses permanent exhibits related to space science as well as an
observatory with a 14inch telescope. Children will find hands-on
exhibits and a virtual reality interactive computer game.

Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens
This most popular park showcases harmony, beauty and tranquility created
by both man and nature. Built around two lakes, the attractions within
the Park includes - The KL Bird Park Orchid Garden, Hibiscus Garden,
Deer Park, Butterfly Park, and the Asean Sculpture Garden.

National Monument / Tugu Negara
This reputable 15.5 metre high monument is designed by American sculptor
Felix de Weldon of Iwo Jima Memorial fame, it honours the nation's
heroes, and depict seven men from Malaysian Armed Forces holding the
national flag. It is one of the largest free-standing monuments in the
world.
