Beach
This quiet little seaside spot has a small but attractive beach, with
swaying palms and lapping waves. A compact but idyllic park borders the
beach, with the wind whispering through the tall shady Casuarinas trees.
On weekends, food stalls sprout to cater for visitors.
Bagan Lalang Beach
Located in Sepang is a quiet and tranquil beach surrounding. It has
various restaurants that serve various fish and other seafood dishes and
is open until late night. It is well known for its �Ikan Bakar� or
barbecue fish.

For more secluded picnic and bathing
spots, travel along the Kuala Lumpur-Hulu Langat road to reach the Sungai
Chongkak Recreational Forest, Sungai Lallang Recreational Forest, Sungai
Gabai Waterfalls, Sungai Tekala Waterfalls, and Sungai Batangsi
Waterfalls. In the easternmost district in Selangor, Hulu Langat, offers
Taman Rimba Ampang, Sungai Tekala Recreation Park, Batangsi, Waterfalls,
Semenyih Dam and Pansoon Dam

Kuantan Fireflies
Just outside Kuala Selangor town is the quiet hamlet of Kampung Kuantan,
site of one of the largest firefly colonies in the world. The nocturnal
tours are extremely popular, with boats hired at the jetty. Watching this
spectacular dance of the fireflies make this a memorable experience. This
shimmering bug known as in Malay as �kelip-kelip� (�glittering�) gather in
their millions at the mangrove swamps by the banks of the Sungai
Selangor.
The swamps stretch more than 18km along the river. While the fireflies is
an all-year phenomenon, the best time to see them is at high tide and with
a moonless sky just after the rain, between 7pm and 9pm.

Gabai Waterfalls
On the same road to Sungai Chongkak in Hulu Langat district, is the
refreshing site of the Sungai Gabai Waterfalls. Several falls cascade down
over 100 meters, culminating in a broad, photogenic plunge into a series
of small pools suitable for swimming. The Sungai Batangsi Waterfalls and
Sungai Lallang Recreational Forest are down the same road to Hulu Langat.

Chongkak Recreational Forest
This lush recreational forest is a scenic 33-kilometres from Kuala
Lumpur. It nestles beside orchards and tropical rainforests, with
facilities available for camping, picnicking and swimming. Chalets are
available for rent, and hawkers ply a wide variety of food and drinks on
weekends.
 Templer's
Park
Located just north of Kuala Lumpur are a series of lush forest parks.
Templer's Park, the first, gives the area its name. In actual fact, it is
an expansive area of forests and cascading waterfalls nestling beside the
Serendah Forest Reserve and the landscaped Commonwealth Forest Park. The
latter has accommodation and camping facilities for the adventurous.
Sungai Tekala Recreational Forest
This recreation park is a great hide-out for a weekend picnic.

 Paya
Indah Wetland Sanctuary
Formerly a barren land caused by exhaustive tin mining activities, it is
now a showcase of integrated conservation and development project being
restored to its natural state comprising lakes, peat swamps and lowland
forest. Covering 3100 hectares, it is now home to more than 142 species of
aquatic and terrestrial plants. It offers meandering paths and boardwalks
that lead to the lake.
Suitable for nature based activities such as fishing, bird watching,
nature tours, jungle trekking, camping, bike and horse riding, canoeing,
boating, and picnics.
Location: 15 Km north of KLIA.
