Perdana Putra (Prime Ministers Department)
The Building houses the Malaysian Prime Minister office complex. Located on the main hill in Putrajaya, the Prime Minister's Office is in the central Main Block which is topped by a glazed mosaic main dome; The West Wing has the offices of the Deputy Prime Minister, and The East Wing houses the offices of the Chief Secretary to the Government. The structural design is influenced by Malay, Islamic and European cultures as such Palladian and Neoclassicism.

It is an interesting mixture of styles -- modern Western, modern Islamic, and British Colonial which was itself inspired by ancient Roman architecture. The onion dome is accompanied by smaller domes on either side, and the facade is intricately adorned. The green of the dome is matched by the roof and the windows, and contrasts with the brown stone facade



Putra Mosque
Situated next to a lake, it is modelled after Persian Islamic architecture of the Safavid period with several elements derived from other Muslim cultures. The main entrance is patterned after gates to public buildings in Muslim Persia. The building was constructed mainly with rose-tinted granite, offset by brown-stained cengal woodwork to enhance the decorative features on the doors,
 windows and panels.

The mosque consists of a 116m tall minaret and can accommodate 15,000 people. 116 metres tall, one of the striking features of the minaret is that it was designed after the Sheikh Oman Mosque in Baghdad. Its five-tiers representing the five pillars of Islam and its five call to prayers. Within its premises is the VIP Room Gallery, the Al-Quran Manuscript Museum, a library, auditorium and exhibition hall as well as a seminar room. It also has a large courtyard called the �Sahn� dedicated to commemorate the life of the Prophet. The main entrance to the mosque is patterned after the gates of Persia. Twelve columns support the 36 metre diameter main dome.



Perbadanan Putrajaya Complex
owned by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, the lead developer for Putrajaya, the complex is one of the landmark buildings with contemporary interpretation of traditional Islamic architecture. The main feature is the Gateway or Gerbang with a public viewing deck on the top most level that allows for a breathtaking view of the city skyline that includes the Palace of Justice and the Grand Mosque. The gateway also provides a vantage
point during parades.



Putrajaya International Convention Centre
Covering an area of 51 acres, it is located on top of Taman Puncak Selatan in Precinct 5. The form has been described as distinctive and contemporary. The building�s unique curvilinear design combines the traditional shape and concept of the �wau� (ancient kite) and the �pending perak� (silver royal belt buckle).

Similar to the 'pending perak', where the patterns are engraved in a series of radiating circles, similarly the various areas / rooms are set in a series of radiating circular. All these architectural elements come together to realise the concept of unity.

Spread over nine levels, the largest meeting hall is the Plenary Hall which can seat 3,000 people while the Banquet Hall is can seat a maximum of
 4,500 cocktail style and 2,000 banquet style.


Seri Perdana
Simply put, the Malaysian prime minister has one of the biggest home spread in the world. Seri Perdana is the permanent, official residence of the present and future Prime Ministers of Malaysia. Specially designed with mixture of Malay Moorish and Islamic architecture of the Mogul era, it consists of 3 main blocks. Main Reception Facilities & Protocol Block � Consists of Guest Rooms, The Waiting Rooms, Meeting Room, Prayer Room, and Dining Room.

The Banquet Facilities Block � Consists of the Banquet Gallery, Gifts Gallery and the Banquet Hall.
The third block is the official residence and the living quarters of the Prime Minister.

A tour of Seri Perdana is highly recommended. Seri Perdana is open 0900-1230 and 1400-1700 everyday (incl. Public Holidays) except Mondays and Fridays.
 On Fridays, Seri Perdana is open 0900-1200 and 1500-1700.
The residence is closed to the public on Mondays or when official functions are being held. The entry is free but visitors are required to submit their identity cards (Malaysian citizens) or passports when obtaining the visitor's pass from the public gate. Cameras are allowed but a a dress code applies.
