Tasik Melati (Melati Lake)
This small but picturesque lake lprovides a respite for boating, picnics, and relaxing walks. The lake is shallow. More than 150 sandbar-islands may be seen all over the lake. Sampans can be rowed to these tiny "islands". Elevated walkways provide vantage
 and rest points.

Bukit Air Recreational Park (Hutan Lipur Bukit Air)
The Bukit Air Recreational Park is an inviting location. Cool streams meandering through a lush tropical forest setting and waterfalls cascading excitingly into frothing rocky pool down below, make it an ideal location for picnic.

There are few better places to spend an afternoon picnicking with family and friends than at this park, where cool streams of water cascade down waterfalls into a churning pool below. If you wish to spend the night there, there is a parking area, camping grounds
and basic facilities for you.

Perlis Herbal Garden
 Created in 1998, these 12 hectares gardens now contain over 6,000 species of herb, spice and traditional medicinal plants. Essentially, it is an "ethno botanical museum" where both local and exotic species from other countries are grown and visitors to the gardens can learn their uses and how to care for such plants.
Location: 12 Km North of Kangar, Adjacent to Bukit Air Recreational Park
Open - Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00am to 4.30pm.

Snake and Reptile Farm
Surrounded by the Bukit Bintang Forest Reserve near Sungai Batu Pahat, the Snake & Reptile Farm is a research facility and exhibition area which is home to dozens of species of snakes, monitor lizards and crocodiles. Set up to develop serums for snakebites, it is the only snake farm in Malaysia and houses 34 species of snakes, 25 from Malaysia and nine from outside the country. Of the 34, 10 species are poisonous. The farm has natural open air enclosures as well as closed exhibits. Handlers will assist the public to take photographs with safe snakes.

Bird Park
Just 10km from Kangar, near the Sungai Batu Pahat (Batu Pahat River), lies
the Bird Park. Here, there are many beautiful and unique birds for your viewing pleasure. Besides, the Bird Park is also a hop away from the Snake Farm

Putra Golf Club
Golfers will enjoy this 18-hole course at Putra Golf Club. reputed for its technically difficult and challenging course, this par-72 course lies in a magnificent setting against the breathtaking scenery of Batu Pahat and surrounded by greenery.
The club also has something for everyone in the family and the Fairway Restaurant serves a good range of Malaysian and other cuisine.
