Sam Poh Tong Temple
The temple is an impressive work of art and faith, with various statues of Buddha amidst stalactites and stalagmites. There is also a beautiful pond where visitors can feed the tortoises (symbol of longevity) and a wishing well. Outside the temple is a vegetarian restaurant.
Location: 5 Km South of Ipoh, Gunung Rapat



The Mekprasit Buddist Temple
Ipoh�s only Thai temple. It features a mammoth sleeping Buddha and countless other statues. Another attraction around here are the many pottery workshops offering vases, teapots, flower pots, pitchers and saving boxes of all
shapes and colours for sale.

Perak Tong Temple
This Temple in Limestone Caves of Gunung Tasek, was built in 1926 by a Buddhist priest from China. The temple houses over 40 Buddha's and behind the main altar leads to the caves interior. After a steep climb of 385 steps the cave opens again to reveal a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside.
Open daily: 8am to 6pm (Admission free).
Location: Jalan Kuala Kangsar, about 6 Km North of Ipoh



Darul Ridzuan Museum
Opened in 1992, it houses interesting artifacts on the history and development of Ipoh and the mining and forestry industry of Perak. Built over a century ago it used to be the home the Malay chieftains of Kinta and the British rulers. 
Open every day (a half day on Thurs) except Fri from 9:00am to 5:00pm

F.M.S Bar & Restaurant
F.M.S. is the acronym for Federated Malay States. Hainanese immigrants opened the restaurant cum bat in 1906 to the predominantly European miners and planters. The restaurant serves excellent Chinese cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner.




Ipoh Railway Station
An impressive landmark that combines Moorish architecture and a surrounding beautiful floral garden. Also housing a hotel, it bears a close resemblance to it�s Kuala Lumpur counterpart and is affectionately known to locals as 'The Taj Mahal� of Ipoh.

D R Seenivasagam Park
The fresh atmosphere and variety of flora are the main attractions of this beautiful park. Children can enjoy several recreational and amusement facilities such as the roller-skating rink, a playground and a mini-train course for family fun.

Kallumalai Arul Migu Subramaniam Temple
Across the street from D. R. Seenivasagam Park is the outcrop of Bukit Cheroh and the Hindu temple where the Thaipusam celebrations are held. It is said that Lord Muruga, the main deity at the temple appeared before the Chinese squatters who lived in Bukit Cheroh as an elderly man and pleaded with them to vacate the premises. within days of the elderly man's visit, there was a catastrophic cave-in and many were injured and even killed.



Japanese Garden
This public park recreates the aesthetics of a Japanese garden. A small Japanese house, a goldfish pond and a wooden bridge across a stream are some of the elements that conjure up the serenity and meditative atmosphere of the traditional Japanese garden. The grounds are lush with a variety of beautiful tropical flowers, plants and trees. An added attraction is the colourful floral clock
on a slope.

Geological Museum of Ipoh
Established in 1957, it houses a collection of over 600 samples of minerals, fossils, precious stones and rock specimens. The Museum is well known for exhibitions of tin ore, including the best specimen of cassiterite
in the world. 
Visiting hours are from (Mon � Fri) 8am to 4:15pm
and (Sat) 8:00am to 12:45 pm. Admission is free
