DAY 1
Arrive
Miri where you will be met by your guide, and transferred to the
Rihga Royal Hotel Miri for the night. For dinner, you have a choice
of Chinese set dinner in the hotel�s Yuan Restaurant or Western
Malaysian set in the Brighton Coffee House. (D)
DAY 2
After
breakfast this morning, we will depart by flight from Miri to
Limbang. From there, we will travel overland to Brunei and
transferred to Sungai Kianggeh jetty for a scenic speedboat ride
through mangrove lined waterways. The one-hour journey will end in
Bangar town and then
continue by car/van to Kampung Batang Duri. From here, we will
proceed by longboat upriver for approximately one hour fifteen
minutes (depending on water level) to arrive at the Belalong
National park. Register at the park and settle in into your jungle
lodge for the evening. Tonight�s meal will be a local BBQ dinner
prepared by your guide. After dinner, we shall go on a short night
jungle trek around the park. Overnight in the lodge. (lights will be
switched off at 11:00pm) (B,L,D)
DAY 3
This
is an early morning wake-up call at 5:00 am for light breakfast of
coffee/tea and biscuits after which we shall take the canopy walk in
the jungle and vie sunrise while you enjoy breakfast
in the rainforest. We return to the lodge at around 9:00 am
where you will have some free time. This morning you will be taught
some river skills exercise floating with life jackets. We return to
the lodge for lunch and start packing up to leave the national park
by longboat at 2:00 pm. From Kampong Batang Duri, we proceed to
Bangar town overland and continue on to Limbang, of the Sarawak
State of Malaysia. Our overland transfer will bring us to Medamit
jetty to go on longboat to Rumah Bala longhouse, ethnic dwelling of
the Iban tribe of Sarawak. Overnight at the longhouse with local
meals cooked by your guide and the host family of the longhouse.
While you are here in the longhouse, please feel free to ask the
longhouse chief on their traditions and customs and you will be
entertained with their tribal folklore. (B,L,D)
DAY 4
Breakfast
in the longhouse and we will continue by longboat to Mentawai to
register our entry for Mulu. Continue on longboat and start our trek
on the Headhunter�s trail (developed by the Kayan tribe over a
century ago). Trek time is between 6-7 hours (11.3 km) and is fairly
flat with one major river crossing. Arrive at Camp 5 late afternoon
and dinner and overnight at the camp. (B,L,D)
DAY 5
We
depart from Camp 5 after breakfast to trek to Kuala Litut (or Berar
depending on water level) Trek time is 2-3 hours( 8km)
to the pick up point where our longboat will take us
downriver to Mulu. On the way lunch will be at the Clearwater rest
house. You may want to visit the Wind and Clearwater Caves today (
or do this on another day while you are at the resort) or have a
swim in the Clearwater pool. Proceed on longboat downriver and
arrive at the Royal Mulu Resort/Park Chalet for check-in. Overnight
at the resort/park chalet. (B,L)
DAY 6
Free
day this morning after breakfast. In the afternoon 2:00 pm, we will
go overland to the Mulu National Park, register at the park and
visit the Deer and Lang Caves, which is 3 km comfortable plank walk
through the jungle. Await exit of bats on the observation point
outside the cave and return to resort/park chalet late evening for
overnight at the resort/park chalet.
DAY 7
Breakfast
is at your leisure until your departure by flight.

DAY 1
After
early breakfast this morning, we will depart by flight from Miri to
Limbang (* If you arriving in transit in Miri, you will be met on
arrival and brought to the RIHGA Royal Hotel, sort out the luggage
you need for your trip, have a quick brief with your guide who will
be waiting for you in Miri or it time does not permit, we will
collect your big luggage for storage and check you in for the
afternoon flight instead). We leave the hotel at 1300hrs for our
flight to Limbang. We will arrive Limbang at 1430hrs and from there;
our overland transfer (45 minutes) will bring us to Medamit jetty to
go on longboat (one hour depending on water level) to Rumah Bala
longhouse, ethnic dwelling of the Iban tribe of Sarawak. Overnight
at the longhouse with local meals cooked by your guide and the host
family of the longhouse. While you are here in the longhouse, please
feel free to ask the longhouse chief on their traditions and customs
and you will be entertained with their tribal folklore. (B,L,D)

trek on the Headhunter�s trail (developed by the Kayan tribe over
a century ago during the headhunting and warring days). Trek time is
between 5-6 hours (12km) and is fairly flat with only one major
river crossing. Arrive at Camp 5 late afternoon and dinner and
overnight at the camp. (B,L,D)
DAY 3
We
depart from camp after breakfast to trek to Kuala Litut (or Berar
depending on water level). Trek time is 2(8.3km) hours to the pick
up point where our longboat will take us downriver to Mulu. On the
way lunch will be at the Clearwater resthouse. You may want to visit
the Wind and Clearwater Caves today (or do this on another day while
you are at the resort) or have a swim in the Clearwater pool.
Proceed on longboat downriver and arrive at the Royal Mulu
Resort/Park chalet) for check-in. Dinner and overnight resort/park
chalet. (B,L)
DAY 4
Free
day this morning after breakfast. In the afternoon at 2.00pm, we
will go overland to the Mulu National Park, register at the park and
visit the Deer & Lang Caves, which is a 3-km comfortable
plankwalk through the jungle. Await exit of the bats on the
observation point outside the cave and return to resort late evening
for overnight resort/park chalet. (B)
DAY 5
Breakfast
is at leisure until your morning departure by flight. (B)

From Miri, fly into Limbang and will start the tour from Limbang.
You can also start from Mulu to Limbang but it is nice to end at the
resort at the end. If starting from Mulu, suggest using the park
chalet

Extension stays and optional tours available in Mulu & Miri

It is possible to fly to Limbang on the later afternoon (after
1400hrs) flight but arrival to the longhouse will be late evening.
You can take the morning flight out of Miri to Limbang if staying
the night in Miri.

of days in Mulu is planned according to clients request. If
Headhunter�s is taken, please add room night charges as per
request

For the more adventurous, the Pinnacles trip can be done in
conjunction with this trek (extra night in Camp 5 then)
