Pulau Singa Besar name means "Island of the Bid Lion" although physically there's no resemblance. Located 17km from Kuah, Pulau Singa Besar is nestled between the smaller island of Pulau Beras Basah to the west and Pulau Dayang Bunting to the east.

ITINERARY
Discover the fabled islands of Langkawi, by speedboat with a first stop at Singa Besar Island, where you can do a jungle walk around the island. Visit the animal sanctuary where the animals are allowed to roam wild.

Next we go on to the Dayang Bunting Island and to its Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, where you can swim in its magical fresh water lake.
From here we continue to Beras Basah Island for a short swim before heading back.

There are 2 options in visiting and snorkelling at the Pulau Payar Marine Park

THE CORAL LANGKAWI
Is a large 49 m x 15 m floating platform that is used for the day boats to moor up at, and as a base for divers and snorkeller's alike.
Built with a tunnel-like chamber located at the bottom of the platform at about 10 feet below the sea, it allows visitors can get a good look at the reef as well as visit the Island itself. The Platform has a restaurant and a sundeck to sunbathe on the deck and there are glass bottomed boats that explore the nearby reefs.

PAYAR ISLAND BEACH
Visit the island beach itself.
Activities here would be to do some jungle trekking, snorkelling and swimming and fish & shark feeding (the smaller types)

An Introduction to Scuba Diving at Payar

For non - certified diver, this offers a chance to discover the wonders of the underwater world. Under the supervision of experienced PADI Dive Instructors and Dive masters, you will be taught basic scuba diving skills and how to use the scuba diving equipment. Once you have mastered the basics, you will then be taken for an open water dive (maximum Depth - 12 metres / 40 ft)
