Travel in Malaysia can be
complicated in the sense that Malaysian Holidays have to be taken in account
whenever you are planning travel. For destinations especially in the South such as Tioman etc, holidays in Singapore should also be taken in consideration.
It affects prices as well as availability of accommodations. These are usually known as peak
periods and prices tend to go up. These include the school holidays
as weekends and public holidays for the various cultural and
religious festivals celebrated in Malaysia.
Also, Malaysia is culturally diverse nation with many different
ethnic groups, and religions. Each observe their unique cultural
festivals. It may not be a public holiday, but nevertheless it is
celebrated in its own unique way.
